The return

Let me start by saying that although I have been thinking about updating my blog, I havn't had the time to do so which of course resulted in this long hiatus of sorts. So what have I been doing in the last 2 months? Let's see, I shot and finished my documentary film. Which incidentally, my dad saw, and reviewed thus-"good camera work,sound-I like the editing too-but it seems direction less." I was the director of course. Oh the irony of it all. Anyway, after the disaster that was my documentary I moved on to another short film shoot among other things, and wrapped that up. That was a whirlwind in itself, and quite harrowing but fun nonetheless. Oh and in between I have been battling depression over the constant worries of future unemployment among other misfortunes to befall me. That's me ladies and gentlemen, my blog makes my life sound more melodramatic than a sitcom. Only difference is that the laugh track only plays for God.

So what films have I seen? I saw certain a film called Transformers, and although it has an atrocious editing style, I still loved it. Saw TMNT and liked that too. Today I managed to see the dud that was The Fountain, and I must confess that in my book, the film deserves praise for trying something so different alone. Although, I wouldn't call the film a sci fi at all. It is a very philosophical film. Hugh Jackman is proving himself to be an increasingly good actor with every passing role. The film, I have to admit isn't very audience friendly, but still thank god for something that doesn't assume it's audience is lobotomized. On a personal note, I have to credit the director & writer Darren Aronofsky for daring to go where seldom have gone before. He put his wife in a quite intimate scene with Hugh Jackman. Not sure how he didn't feel jealous. Or maybe I am just not that professional.

I also saw the entire first season of 30 rock and although I do like it and the show has gotten beyond it's initial jittery start, every time I watch it, I can't help feel a pang of pain thinking that they chose to continue this show instead of the great Studio 60. That still hurts. I also saw the entire Futurama. Yes, every single episode and I loved it! I highly recommend an episode called Jurassic Bark to everyone.

Okay so what else have I been up to? Other than watching films, serials, getting depressed , romancing a certain someone and shooting films? Nothing much else. Apparently my health has gotten worse. Met up with some old friends and this is what they had to say about me- "What is wrong with you! You look like you are dying!" Yes, those were their exact words. Sigh. For my next trick, ladies and gentlemen, I will vanish into thin air whilst eating loads of chicken and rice and chocolates. Don't you just love my not so subtle jokes? Hmm what else, what else, I seem to be forgetting to tell something.

Oh yes, now for my regular stale Hollywood news. Here goes- The geniuses are remaking Enter the dragon. That has disaster written all over it. It's blasphemy! What do you think? Also lined up for remakes are Total Recall among other films. Don't know about you, but even though I never was especially fond of that film, I think it is fine the way it is, and doesn't need a remake. Come on Hollywood! Stop raping old scripts! Are you that in that dire a need for good new ideas? You have my email address! or better yet, Call me!

In other news, the previews of Beowulf is looking quite impressive and I look forward to watching a Zemeckis film. I also saw the red band trailer of the sequel to alien vs predator ( for the love of god, was it any good to warrant a sequel?-not that you will hear me complaining-I am a whore for sci fi) and it is quite possibly the most violent thing I have seen in ages. People get stabbed, acid washed, cut, bombed, and whatnots. Oh and there are aliens and predators too. Other films to look forward to is the Project Cloverfield and Prince Caspian. That about sums up todays update folks.
