Movie reviews
It turned out that finding an embedded player which will only play the music in my blog article and not let it be downloaded , is a big problem. Therefore the plans to upload my music is stalled for the time being.
In the meanwhile, here are a few movie reviews. As usual comments are welcome.
Vexille - This sci fi 3d animation had a much more interesting plot. The animation is nice. Storyline leaves me wanting to know more. The movie even has huge worms ala Dune. Thief!
Appleseed 2 - Hate the soundtrack. Hate it. Fails to reach the uber action high of the first film. Impressive animation. Again, absolutely no story whatsoever. Masamune Shirow's work gets the hollywood dose. Not good. The first film wasn't that awesome either.
Tripping the rift the movie - Majorly unfunny film, looks like this franchise is only good as short animations, not for a feature film.
Lions for lambs - A very talky film, and is a very nice take on the current situation in America. What is interesting is that the film manages to represent all sides so... meticulously. Robert Redford directs quite well, fine acting by Redford , Streep and Cruise
Vantage point- Rashomon style narrative makes for an interesting thriller. Although I wish the ending was less over the top. Still, fun to watch. Could have been made shorter though.
War - Overly hyped and badly made. The first plot twist was interesting though. The others were not. Remember boys and girls, you don't need a good script if you have the flavor of the week stars.
Bee movie - The trailer hadn't impressed me much , neither did the animation and even though I was biased at the beginning, the writing is quite funny. And who doesn't like Jerry Seinfeld!
Dan in real life - Steve Carrell is growing on me. Juliette Binoche is awesomely beautiful as ever. Some parts of the story seem too forced to make the love triangle clear. Yeah, we got it in the trailer itself. Storyline is awfully like The Family Stone. This one is a light comedy, that one was more dramatic.
Elizabeth the golden age - Cate Blanchett is good, so is Geoffrey Rush and Clive Owen, but somehow the film feels like one major damp squib. Historical inaccuracies abound.
Walk hard the dewey cox story - A parody mish mash of famous singers, the comedy could have been much funnier but kept oscillating between tongue in cheek humour and crass parody in the class of a scary movie.
Eragon - A huge squandering of talent in the name of a movie. Jeremy Irons, Robert Carlysle and John Malkovich try their best, but adapting fantasy epics is quite difficult. In the end it feels like watching a film on fast forward.
Wheels on meals - This classic kung fu movie is 25 years old and still entertaining to watch. The comedy does get old and pointless at times. But if you know about this film, then you have probably come to watch jackie chan fight the undefeated kickboxing champion Benny Urquidez , which is quite something to watch.
Jab we met - Very interesting first half - i specially liked the opening sequence, well written. Probably the only film where Kareena Kapoor wasn't puke worthy. Although it does become inane in the second half.
Futurama: Bender's Big Score _ It's a great pleasure seeing Fry and gang back in action. The dialogues are as witty as ever, and funny as hell. You could easily sit with a counter to see how many jokes they make about the network executives who canceled their show. Tons of fun.
Well, thats it for the time being, more movie reviews will follow in the next few days.
